A 22-year-old engineering pupil was arrested on Wednesday over the dying of a four-year-old boy in Odisha’s Ganjam district, police stated.

The boy was present in blood on the terrace of his neighbour’s home on Tuesday.

As per preliminary investigation, the engineering pupil had sexually assaulted the boy and fearing arrest, smashed the boy’s head with an iron door of the under-construction home, a police officer stated.

The accused fled the world after the incident and he was arrested close to Aska, its SDPO Uma Shankar Singh stated.

He stated the precise reason for the dying might be ascertained solely after getting the autopsy report.
